My cousin Erik, and his wife Tanya, along with another couple, were killed this weekend when the plane he was piloting went down outside of Las Vegas. One of a number of articles here:

This was not a cousin that I was particularly close to but one of those you see every few years at the family reunion or at a funeral. In fact, he gave the sermon at my Grandmother's funeral. 

Truly a shame. My heart grieves for their children.

Sorry for your family's loss. This was on the regional news reports here so I had heard that both couples had children and I had thought "how horrible for that to happen". Never would have thought I would have any possible connection to them ...life is odd somedays.

Thank you. Eric and Tanya had 4 children between the ages of 4 - 9. I believe the other couple had 3 children.

7 children between the two couples - the tragedy really boils down to the fact that those children are not going to have the childhoods their parents planned for them.

Oh, I am so sorry. Steve's brother lives near Vegas and fights the big fires, I wonder if he was involved after the fact. . .
