Years ago I read a book that was written by the son of an engineer.  There were 6 siblings; dad was very interested in efficiency in not only the domestic areas but also in learning (I remember one story how the kids went to sleep listening to foreign languages played on the record player; or maps of the sky projected on the ceiling of their bedroom).  I read this book sooo many times and took many of my ideas about multitasking from it when I was younger.  For the life of me I can't recall the author...ring any bells out there?

Also looking for references/recommendations other than AOL.  I have loved AOL for their content but am looking to move my email off of it since AOL tends to really screw up my computers.  Need a great homepage, the ability to file email in folders, maybe even a program that it might have to support a migration of favorite places and email addresses...I do use gmail for most of my SCA related stuff...but "something" is missing for me.  Not sure what it is...

Buehler? Buehler?

I adore my gmail and wouldn't change it for anything... As far as favorite places... are you using Mozilla Firefox or still on IE? Mozilla has a cool option that you can integrate all of your favorites on a number of different computers. I found it most beneficial.

Of course, it could be that I just hate IE.

We have great Verizon FiOS for both web and TV, as well as phone. I'm talking more about using an email/interface provider other than AOL. I have a verizon address I could use as well, or I could go to MS Outlook...just not sure what I really like. I've become so accustomed to AOL over the years.

Once I got my Mac with the Mail app on it I have a really hard time using web based e-mail. It's just easier to chekc you mail on an app independent of your browser. Can you route your gmail to an external app? I don't use gmail so I don't know. It'd be worth looking into though.

Good luck!
